How Long Is Eternity?

Ever thought about how long eternity is? Given that it never ends I would say it is a long time. Paul talks about eternity in his 2nd letter to the Corinthians.

He says in 4:8-9,15-18 "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed...All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Amazing how those words are as true today as they were 2000 years ago. I know I need to hear them every day as I watch from a Biblical perspective and see mankind take the world into their own hands and steer it towards building up their own glory based on their temporary made-up values. 

Values that will be shattered into a million pieces as they slip into all eternity.  As we feel the frustration, let’s pray for the blinded so they might see eternity as our Lord sees it.  As we feel the anger let’s examine our hearts and ask God to forgive us and those who trample upon His Glory.  As we feel depressed, let’s be encouraged because eternity awaits us.  As we feel anguish, let’s be determined to act for His Glory and with His Wisdom and Love.  Let’s make a difference for all eternity!
