Founder/CEO

Bob Barber is the founder and CEO of CFAA and Christian Investment Services. He has 25 years of investing experience starting with real estate back in 1984 and moving into stocks, bonds, annuities, oil and gas, commodities, etc. in 1992.  Today he manages approximately 100 million dollars for 300 households across the United States.

He was also the founder and host of Christian Investors Daily radio program from 1998-2006. CID was heard daily, Monday through Friday, on radio stations in San Antonio, Austin, Houston and Corpus Christi.

In 2007 he was the recipient of the 2007 Integrity Award from Broker/Dealer, NEXT Financial Group, Inc. in Houston, Texas. From 2005-2007 he was the President of the National Association of Christian Financial Consultants (NACFC). In 2006 he initiated a weekly coaching program for Investment Representatives nationwide. During these calls Bob taught successful business management principles that he has incorporated into his own practice at CIS. For over 20 years he has spoken on the topic of investing to thousands of people in churches, public & private schools, professional organizations, as well as various clubs and private organizations. He has consistently been in the top 1% of Independent Investment Representatives nationwide for many years.

Bob’s hobbies and favorite activities include: Teaching the Bible, family activities, being very involved in his church (Oakwood Baptist in New Braunfels), weight lifting, travel and building relationships with people.

He has a strong Christian heritage dating back to the early 1800’s. He grew up in a Christian home and acknowledged Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. He is also proud to be a 6th Generation Texan.

 Bob has been married to his beautiful wife, Rachael, since 1984. They have three children, and one son-in-law. Bob resides in New Braunfels, Texas.

Pat Hail

Pastor/Director of Development

Pat Hail is responsible to direct and develop the Christian Financial Association of America. Pat has 30 years of ministry experience including teaching (youth/adults), preaching (as an associate pastor, senior pastor and an evangelist), administration (pastoring two churches in Arizona), witnessing (mission trips in Cuba, Mexico, Wales, and at home), and writing (articles published in New Man and Building Church Leadership magazines). Most recently, he was the Executive Director of Sola Scriptura Ministries, INC. and the Pastor of West Greenway Baptist Church in Glendale, AZ.

Pat is committed to disciple God’s pastors, people and churches about the importance of Biblical Stewardship.

Favorite book: A Man Called Peter by Catherine Marshall

Favorite Movie: Remember The Titans- because it speaks of overcoming great opposition to accomplish what you are passionate about.

Favorite Verse: Ephesians 4:11-12

Free Time adventures: Spending as much time as possible with my beautiful wife Janet and our three Godly and gifted children- Courtney, Caleb, and Dylan, running, fishing, hunting, biking, junking (antiquing), yard work, and restoring our 72 Chevy pickup.

 God is also using Pat to teach multiple classes of 7 Pillars of Biblical Stewardship and a home small group for his home church, Oakwood Baptist Church, New Braunfels, TX. 

David Schmitt

Director of Credit Union Development

David Schmitt is responsible for the development of the Christian Federal Credit Union.  David has 24 years of banking experience including retail branch operations, technology, back-office operations, customer call centers, internet banking, financial analysis, underwriting, and sales.  He was a Senior Vice President for Golden West Financial Corporation (Wachovia purchased GWF in 2007) in San Antonio, TX.    

David is committed to providing customers with a high level of service and financial products while taking measures to ensure the financial strength of the Credit Union. 

Favorite Book besides the Bible:  The Upside Of Adversity by Oz Hillman

Favorite Movie besides the Ten Commandments:  Space Odyssey 2001 because it reflects Man’s desire to seek the creator! And all the Chronicles of Narnia movies because the Lion truly reflects the power and control our Lord has here on earth and for all eternity. 

Favorite Verse:  Proverbs 3: 5-8

Free Time adventures: In his spare time he enjoys hanging out with his wife Luann and their two children, Kellie and Luke; fishing; golfing and tinkering with a remote control monster truck.

 God is also using David to lead three Bible studies in San Antonio. 

Brett Becker

Brett Becker began pastoral work in college while majoring in Religion at Baylor University and has been in full-time ordained ministry since graduating from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1995. He has been the Senior Pastor of St. Paul Evangelical Church in Cibolo, Texas since February 1, 2000. Many new ministries have been started and the church has nearly tripled in giving and doubled in attendance as compared to the year before he arrived. Staffing has grown from one pastor to six people on staff. This historic and traditional church will launch its first contemporary worship service in September 2009. He is extremely excited about and committed to the vision of CFAA.

Favorite Book besides the Bible: The Black Spearman, a wonderfully positive and inspirational story about a young Indian warrior who overcomes great adversity.

Favorite Movie besides the Ten Commandments: Twelve O’ Clock High, because of the leadership lessons and all the adversity the lead character, a WWII Bomber Squadron Commander, must overcome and the parallels it bears to being a senior pastor.

Favorite Verse: Romans 8:28

 Free Time adventures: In his spare time he is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys deer, dove, and turkey hunting and learning about and practicing land and wildlife management. Eschatology and effective church leadership have been special areas of interest and study in recent years. 

Howard Baker

Howard is Senior Vice President, Chief of Staff at Security Service Federal Credit Union, where he has worked for over 9 year. Previously, Howard worked for the National Credit Union Administration. With almost 23 years of credit union experience, Howard’s high-level expertise in lending, collections, asset liability management, and investments; as well as his working knowledge of the competitive environment in which credit unions operate are particularly well-suited for his role helping charter the CFAA-sponsored Christian credit union.

Active in the community, Howard has served in several leadership roles. Currently, he is the 2010 Chair Elect of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce; as well as a board member of the New Braunfels Christian Academy Board of Trustees, and the Texas State University McCoy School of Business Advisory Board.

Howard attended Texas A&M, and graduated with honors from Texas State University in 1986 with a BBA in Finance & Economics. He married the former Juliana Hunsaker in 1987, and they have two daughters, Jill and Hannah. The Baker’s are members of First Baptist Church New Braunfels.

 Free Time Adventures: Enjoying family time while visiting the Frio River near Leakey to swim and fish; finding cool out-of-the-way Texas swimming holes; enjoying Comal County’s abundant rivers and lake spots; traveling, even if only for a “staycation” in near-by San Antonio; and cooking out with family and friends. 

Nathaniel Morris

Nathaniel Morris is a member of the CFAA advisory council and is excited to see what God is going to do in the area of finance through the foundation of CFAA.

Nathaniel is also the VP of Client Services with Christian Investment Services. Since May 2002 he has overseen and has been responsible for the client services of the Christian Investment Services. These duties include all client account administration details, operations, technology, back-office operations, customer support, financial analysis, compliance, licensing, and technical sales. He currently holds the Series 7 General Securities License and the Series 63 License. At CIS Nathaniel is committed to providing customers with a consistent high level of personal service with integrity and promptness.

Nathaniel grew up in a Christian home and his parents have served in full time missions work for over twenty years, serving and helping missionaries all over the world to do the work of the Lord. Shortly after high school he attended Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas and received a Diploma in Practical Theology in 1996.

 Free Time adventures: Spending time with my beautiful wife and my two sons. Helping my wife home-school the boys, not really, she does most of it. I enjoy playing golf and occasionally camping and doing other outdoor activities with my family. God is also using Nathaniel to help co-lead a men’s small group for his home church, Oakwood Baptist, New Braunfels, TX. 

Salbador (Sal) Cadena

Sal is a member of the CFAA Advisory Council.

He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner with Christian Investment Services where he has worked since June of 2002. He is responsible for meeting with clients to review their accounts and answer questions pertaining to their individual investments and goals. He has Bachelor of Science Education with specialization in Mathematics and Computer Science and was a secondary education teacher for 15 years.

Favorite Movie: “Iron Will” because it reminds me to be dedicated to my cause, persevere, plan and do the work necessary to succeed at the race God has laid out before me.

Favorite Book: “Through the Gates of Splendor” because it reminds me that “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose”

Favorite Verse(s): Psalm 1 & Acts 26:16-18

 Free Time Activities: Spending time with my beautiful wife, Patty and our two daughters as well as our extended family. Being #6 of 10 children creates multiple opportunities to engage family members in having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I also serve as an elder at Church (Dayspring Christian Fellowship) and lead a Men’s Fellowship and a home bible study group. 

Robert Orr

Robert met Christ as his personal Lord and Savior as a 6th grader. His Sunday school teacher challenged the class to live one week without sinning and Robert discovered that he could not. The class was then challenged again to live three weeks without sinning, again Robert realized that he couldn’t live three weeks without sinning and that he was a sinner in need of Christ’ salvation.

Robert has also been involved for several years in the Bill Glass “Champions for Life,” prison ministries. He and his wife Marsha are faithful servants at First Baptist Church, located in New Braunfels, TX

 Robert spent several years in the local banking industry mainly in Seguin and New Braunfels, TX. He currently owns Power Up Radio, a Contemporary Christian music radio and internet program. He has a desire to educate the Christian community about Biblical banking through CFAA, and is a volunteer for the planned Christian Federal Credit Union of the CFAA. 

Trey Tschoepe

Trey currently supports CFAA Ministries and administers the WaterStone ministry charity project. Trey is excited about the CFAA team and their efforts to build God's kingdom.

Trey Tschoepe is a New Braunfels native and enjoys spending as much time as he can with his family.

Trey's favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird.

 In his spare time, Trey likes to read, is an avid runner, and coaches his children's sports teams. 

Martin Morris

Martin is the Manager of Agency Operations for Barnard Donegan Insurance and has been involved in insurance sales, management and claims for over 40 years. He is a past president of the San Antonio Independent Agents Association and has served on several committees for the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas.

Martin grew up in West Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Finance. He accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord almost 40 years ago at an evening revival service on Super Bowl Sunday and now celebrates his spiritual birthday every year on Super Bowl Sunday. Martin has been involved in Bible study through Bible Study Fellowship and served as a discussion leader for 18 years. He was encouraged by his wonderful wife Pat to get involved in Bible study through BSF. Pat just retired after 25 years as the Teaching Leader for the New Braunfels women’s class.

Martin and Pat have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. They attend First Baptist Church in New Braunfels where Martin is a deacon. His other interest include meeting with the Christian Business Men’s Connection (CBMC) where he has served as chairman of the annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast committee for 2 years; regularly playing golf although his score doesn’t usually show it and being a husband, father and grandfather.

 Martin’s greatest desire is to be an instrument used by God to share the “good news of Jesus Christ” whenever God opens up and opportunity. He feels that God will present opportunities as he serves in an advisory position with CFAA.
